The only nice part of Brett and Cal both being out of the house was that we were able to give them a lot of furniture out of our basement. We had talked all summer about what we would do with less furniture. This past Sunday we finally had time to try out some of our ideas. We spent quite a bit of time dusting, vacuuming, picking up and rearranging each room of the lower part of our house. Doug had already worked on it throughout the week and I was amazed at how quickly the basement all came together by the end of the day.
We were able to bring back the red chair from my Mom's and put that in the toy room along with the rocking chair. It made for great seating for the XBOX 360 that we added to the room. We moved the poker table and bar into the main basement area which left a lot more space for the pool table and air hockey table. Cam had been asking for a game night with his friends. I told him that he could have it as soon as we got the basement cleaned out. I really thought that it would be after Labor Day before it happened, but I was happy to tell him tonight that he could text his friends that this coming weekend would work. He was glad to report that everyone was available for Saturday night.
