A Day in the Life

Today was a busy day in and around the Heinisch home.  Brett, Mom and I started the day watching Cameron and Meg play soccer.  Cameron did a great job at goalie and added a new position - forward.  He loved playing both, let in one goal, had some nice stops, and made two assists as forward.  They beat Cade's team which was a personal victory to Cam as he watched Cade beat up on him at Field Day on Thursday.  Meg's team also won.  It was nice to watch Meg play.  She is very knowledgeable about the sport and has a lot of skill.  She did not get a lot of action, however, as the other team was weak and Doug rearranged positions after the half since they were up 3-0.

From soccer Brett went to Warsaw to help one of the candidates from District 3 campaign.  He was the chauffeur and enjoyed the afternoon.  He has come to realize that he will have to put in a lot of man hours to get a job in the political field next May.  Once Brett returned he, Meg, Cam and I all went to see Tomorrowland.  Three of us were really looking forward to it, but in the end were disappointed.  It wasn't quite the movie we thought it would be.  It had a lot of action, but no definitive plot.  Brett liked it more as he wasn't expecting much.

Doug cooked out tonight after he got home from the NLC golf tourney.  Cal did not have his best round, but his team did finish third overall which was the best they could do given their place after the regular season matches.  As we were sitting around the fire reflecting on the day we all came to realize that golf is a tough sport to watch and play.  A career round of 75 one day can turn into an 88 the next.  The key is to keep working at it and not to get too discouraged.  Tomorrow is always another day.
