A Very Wise Decision

I was very nervous when Cal decided to quit basketball.  I wasn't nervous that he made the wrong decision, but that he would become mournful about it.  I am so happy that that is not the case.  He seems happier now than I have seen him in awhile.  He and his friends go to the community center at least twice a week to play against others.  They have had a lot of success and it gives them something to talk about.  He has also gone to all of the games to cheer on his friends and become an important part of the Wawasee Cheerblock.  On days he is not playing basketball or going to games he is weight lifting, hanging out with friends, studying or going to soccer open gym.

After listening to last night's game I am even more glad that he quit.  Some decisions have been made that are hard to support and it would have been challenging to sit through the games watching the aftermath.  Everyone that has contacted me since Cal left the team has been more than supportive.  They did not like seeing him sit on the bench knowing that he could be a lot bigger contributor than he was allowed to be.  Proud of him for making a tough decision and so very glad to see him smile again.
