Father's Day

It could not have been a better Father's Day here at the Heinisch home.  We started the day serving, ushering and lecturing at mass.  It was a late arriving crowd and when the Eucharistic ministers did not show up, Cal almost had to quickly be ordained to distribute Communion, but overall it was  a nice service!  Doug was able to play tennis with Meg, jog and watch the US Open in the afternoon.

The evening was spent with a delicious dinner of steak, stuffed pork cops and Italian herb chicken.  My parents were able to join us for one of Doug's speciality desserts - homemade carrot cake.  There was a lot of golf talk, a bonfire and badminton.  The Heinisch children gave my Dad his favorites, circus peanuts and orange slices.  We also found him a cane chair to use at Cal's golf matches.  Doug enjoyed his new snow cone machine (or at least pretended to) and the new Phil Jackson book.  Meg had also picked him out a Superman glass.  I thought that nothing could be more fitting.  Doug is the Heinisch family Superman!!  Happy Father's Day!
